Training

Every good business needs to develop its services and its people, by instigating training based on agreed actions and key objectives.

This is the crux of effective training. Without a clear starting point training lacks focus, direction and purpose and is the main reason why so much training is ineffective and unsatisfying for the recipient.

So, it is vital that every company identifies what it really needs, before it starts, and draws up a route map to the final destination.

I have developed a simple, but effective, way of working based on a thorough client prep session, interactive facilitation, robust implementation plan and highly disciplined follow-up plan that would typically include the following:

Pre Training Session Visioning

Set up and preparation to include:-

  • Skill assessment
  • Management goals
  • Implementation time-plan
  • Current delivery assessment
  • Selection of categories to cover

The Training Session(s)

Delivery of enjoyable and stimulating, even fun, learning sessions across agreed timescales. These sessions typically include:

  • Set group-training to include team sessions, information retrieval and GROWTH session
  • Individual goal setting and learning skills for ongoing development and follow up
  • Test and learning segments
  • Group reward

On going support and follow up

I provide a six-month support service, using either direct telephone or email contact and work with my client's team towards achieving agreed objectives - my approach helps deliver;

  • Significant 'buy in' from the managers and employees.
  • Sustained and uniform changes to skills/behaviours across the team
  • Sustainable cultural change within the organisation plus it generates a model for future change across partner organisations (e.g. clients, agencies and media).
  • Improved digital business results as a measurable ROI
  • Knowledge and support
  • Huge increases in market awareness, if required

This process has helped improve both strategy and key people goals for a number of clients including the Manchester Evening News, Branding Boutique, Spider Online, Burness and Drummond Central.

Funding

It is commonplace for many local business link / councils to provide support for external companies for training needs - these can typically add up to 50% towards the cost of any training.
